CALL FOR RECIPES: BISCUITS FOR AN LDEI NASHVILLE COOKBOOK
Hi all!
I’ve come up with a bit of a crazy idea but I think, given all of our current situations, this is the perfect
time to lay the groundwork for a Les Dames Nashville yearly cookbook!
Here is the concept :
An annual single subject mini-cookbook that taps into the regional community spirit of River Road and is
the size and style of the single ingredient Short Stack series.
Our first subject is
Biscuits!
(I am sure you knew I was going to say that.)
We want to assemble all your delectable biscuit recipes from drop, to angel, to beaten, to buttermilk and
everything in between. We also want recipes for your favorite sweet or savory biscuit fillings and toppings.
(Jams. Cream Gravies. A mash-up of butter and sorghum—yum!)
And we want to include a headnote about your recipe. What makes it stand out? Why is it special to you?
What’s its history? (This is that River Road aspect I love!)
It doesn’t need to be a thesis if that makes you nervous it could be as simple as ...My favorite biscuit jam
from my Great Uncle Joe. Or ...my favorite apple tree was a golden delicious and I made this apple butter
with it.
Not only could this project give us a continual revenue stream for grants & scholarships and all the great
things we want to accomplish, I truly believe it is a way to include more of our chapter’s membership who
might be unsure of where to jump in. Well, now is your time to jump in! Please jump in!
What do think ladies? Send me your recipes! I promise to take great care and we will make something
really special with these treasures! So we need your submission!
And let me know if you’d like to help in other ways. Like dream up a name for our cookbook series.
My best to you all,
Lisa Marie White
