Nashville, Tenn. (Oct. 25, 2021) — Les Dames d’Escoffier (LDEI) Nashville will round out its FREE year-long educational workshop series entitled “Sustain & Flourish in Adversity” with a look ahead at “The Future of Farming” on Tuesday, November 9. Registration is now open for the one-hour webinar that will feature insight and expertise about the importance of local farming from LDEI Nashville members and local farming pros, including Sylvia Ganier, Chief Farm Operator of Green Door Gourmet, an organic agritourism farm; LeeAnn Cherry, co-owner of Bear Creek Farm, a sustainable grass-fed cattle and hog farm; and Christa Bentley, co-owner of Sweeter Days Farm and Chief Programs Officer at The Nashville Food Project; and moderated by Tasha Kennard, Farm Programs Manager at Southall Farms.
This year-long educational workshop series by and for women in food, beverage, hospitality and farming has been made possible through a grant from The Women’s Fund of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee and has included five one-hour topical discussions featuring industry experts and members representing all facets of the hospitality industry.
“We are sincerely grateful for The Women’s Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee for partnering with us to present this full year of free programming covering all facets of the hospitality industry,” said Andrea Lindsley, LDEI Nashville President and Partner at DVL Seigenthaler/FINN Partners. “We’ve been able to engage with hundreds in the community and across the country with thoughtful discussions about our industry, and we are excited to wrap up this series on a high note looking ahead to the future of farming.”
This one-hour informational session, held virtually via Zoom, will provide an opportunity for engagement and discussion with the panelists and take-away materials will be provided to each attendee. While the event is free and open to the general public, registration is required. In partnership with Nashville Restaurant Radio, a recap of each session will be made available as a podcast. The four previous sessions, “Redefining and Refining Hospitality,” “Restaurant Invention and Reinvention,’ “Launching Your Food Business” and “Social Media Best Practices for Hospitality” are available now.
