Kick-Off "Table at the Back" held at Family Wash
The gathering included Dames Anne Byrn, Emily Frith, Erin Byers Murray, Mindy Merrell, and Sylvia Ganier, Chef John Stephenson and guest Nicki Pendleton Wood.Nashville Les Dames kicked-off the new Table at the Back program on March 28 with a lively gathering of members and a prospective member at the Family Wash restaurant. The new networking and educational platform aims to connect members in intimate gatherings at restaurants in different areas of the city. Chair of the initiative, Dame Emily Frith of Corner Market Catering enlisted her former protégé Chef John Stephenson for the inaugural gathering. He created a special three-course Spanish-inspired menu and spoke to the group about his cooking philosophy and how Emily’s early guidance helped him to become a successful chef and restaurant owner. He also spoke to the group about the growing trend in restaurants to offer quality wines and batch cocktails on tap along with beer and the importance of consumer education and acceptance.The spicy patatas bravas was followed by an elegant classic flan.
