Kathie 'Kat' Scalf

Kathie 'Kat' Scalf, TN State Manager for Log Still Distillery, is a longtime veteran of the wine, spirits and hospitality industry, spending half her career in restaurants and the other half in alcohol distribution and sales. She has earned her beer certification as a Cicerone, her Level 2 Award (with distinction) in Wine from WSET, and most recently became certified by The Stave & Thief Society as an Executive Bourbon Steward. Kathie is passionate about making alcohol education accessible, relatable and most of all fun. In her spare time she enjoys conducting private tastings and continuing to build her own knowledge base. A proud native of Tennessee, she is originally from the Northeast corner of the state, born and raised in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains. Since 2019 she has happily resided in Franklin and loves spending her weekends exploring its' charms, as well as trying to keep up with the booming restaurant industry in downtown Nashville. Kathie has enjoyed writing a weekly lifestyle column for a long-running arts and entertainment publication in her hometown since 2018, and spends as much time as possible with her family, friends and fur babies.
